Perspective

In the fast-paced world we live in, how do we find time to live? How do we find time to be happy? I once read a play back in high school that pointed out the emptiness in people's lives. The main character had died, and was shown scenes from his life. In practically every scene, he realized that he was not living at all. Rather, he was merely going through the motions... there was so much he would have liked to change...

In the fast-paced world we live in, we often forget to live. We work hard in high school in order to get into a good college. We work hard in college in order to get into a good grad school, eventually to establish a good career. But once you have that job, you work hard to move up, work hard to get your kids through college. When does it end?

I feel it's important to, at times, just stop and take in life for what it is. Take a step back, keep things in perspective, and not take things too seriously. Life is too important to take seriously. Only you can dictate the quality of your life; it's all a matter of perspective and state of mind.
