For all you mac AND wii users out there (you must own both), I discovered the sickest way to retro-game last night. And it's all free!
Step 1:
Check out these sites:
www.retrouprising.com
This site has countless old school games (SNES, SEGA, NES, GAME GEAR, GAMEBOY) playable with no necessary downloads or signing up.
You play them as if they were easily loadable flash games.
www.everyvideogame.com
The games on this site are lacking in quality, but make up for it in quantity.
Practically every NES game every created is on this site.
Step 2:
On both sites, your controller is the keys on the keyboard, taking away from the fun.
But there's NICE way around that.
Use your Wii remote!
How?
Download Darwiinremote.
It's a program that allows you to use the bluetooth on your mac to connect with the wii remote.
Once you have this, reassign the buttons of your remote to the keys of the game your playing and viola... you're retro-graming on your mac w/ the wii remote.
No more need to download games on virtual console.
Sweetest thing ever.
I just spent 2 hours playing Battletoads vs Double Dragon.
Ps. If you don't know by now, I'm a nerd.
