2 moments:

1. Kuya Arch departs early on Thanksgiving to make his morning shift at work. Ate's stuck to ride w/ us. For the first time in what feels like years, our entire family's in a car together. In just one car ride: squeezing into the backseat (ate reluctantly taking the middle), my dad's jokes, laughter (lots of it), reminiscing on younger days, my brother and I bickering (w/ sis intervening), an anonymous culprit gassing up the car (backseat windows locked), and a comfortable sigh of relieve upon returning home.

2. Football AND basketball all day Friday. A reverse exodus back to SM brings friends and fam all over California (SD, LA, OC, Bay Area, etc) back together to enjoy sport & beer. Two-hand touch up to 10, trash talking, and full court hoop-sesh's remind me of days we used to play daily. Felt an infinite moment when everyone gradually dwindled away for food leaving only 'the core' 4. Sun almost set, sky a spectrum of pink, orange, and shades of blue, overhead lights freshly powered, and us chillin on benches wonderin' what to do next.

SM will always be home.
