What Snowboarding Did For Me

You proceed w/ caution.
The way you've grown comfortable.
Speeding down at your own pace.
And braking whenever you please.
But at one point, you say to yourself:
"If these people can do it, why can't I?
The only thing that holds me back is my own fear."
So, you go. And you fall.
The reason why we fall is to remind ourselves that we're learning and we're alive.
And you fall some more.
Then, a moment happens
you find yourself going top speed
down top steepness and you realize
you've got it.
At which point you
stretch out your arms to the sky
to scream,
"WHOOOOOOOO."

And catch a rare glimpse of feeling
infinite.
